The phrase “We Are Still Here” echoes the resilience of Native American communities who, despite the hardships, continue to persevere.
It’s disheartening to acknowledge that the rights to sacred lands remain elusive for many Native American communities. The erosion of language, songs, and cultural practices has been a painful consequence, leaving only a few with the ability to speak their native tongue, sing ancestral songs, or perform traditional ceremonies and dances.
Our journey towards understanding and empathy begins with acknowledging this history, standing with the Native American communities, and amplifying their voices.
